The Divina Commedia is an Italian narrative poem by Dante Alighieri. Upon researching this literary work and its related illustrations. This piece was inspired by the portraits of Dante and reimagined the page. 

The twenty pearls surrounding the frame correspond to Canto 20 in the poem, where the sinners were trying to foretell the future, which is known only to God.
