Recognizing the Importance of Serving Others
I believe the purpose of performing community service goes beyond fulfilling the school’s volunteer hours. The goal is for students to support others in pain or suffering, contribute to our community, and raise social awareness.
Receiving the Service Awards
This week I am honored to receive the SM Sacred Heart Service Award, which recognizes seniors who have lived out SM’s charism, Caritas Christi, and demonstrated an exemplary commitment to Christian Service by completing 400 or more hours of volunteering service in addition to their Christian service projects.
My goal is to give back to my communities to the best of my abilities, and I aim to spend a minimum of 150 hours each year making a positive impact on society, which qualifies me for receiving the annual Heart-to-Heart Award, recognizing students who have completed more than 100 hours of volunteering service above their Christian service projects.
